Summer Holiday Courses in Derbyshire & Staffordshire

Over the summer holidays we, at SoccerstarsUK & SportstarsUK, coached 961 primary school aged children at 18 courses across Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire. We were so excited to be back after lockdown and see so many local children wanting to be active and participating in sport during their summer holidays!

Holiday Courses

At our SoccerstarsUK holiday courses in both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, children aged 5-12 enjoyed 56 full day of football activities! Our days consisted of a variety of games that gave our players the opportunity to practise their ball control and technique when passing, shooting and dribbling, whilst giving them opportunities to be creative and express themselves. Everyday we played a themed tournament, where players could finish as Premier League, Champions League or even World Cup Champions!

We also ran our two Advanced Holiday Courses, where coaches from Derby County Football Club Academy joined us to help young, talented football improve in specific aspects of their game. On each day there was a specific technical focus so that the players were able to best identify areas in their game that they wanted to improve and our coaches were able to help them do so, not only during our courses but in the future too!

SportstarsUK courses

Alongside our football courses, we ran six multi-sport courses in Derby, Burton & Uttoxeter this summer, where our children participated in a huge variety of different sports. Our days consisted of three different sports including; tennis, hockey, dodgeball, basketball, tag rugby, netball, athletics, football, handball, cricket, rounders and many more. Much like in the SoccerstarsUK courses, our children finished each day with a tournament, in which they were able to put into practice the skills they had learnt that day!

COVID-19 guidelines

Our holiday courses had a slightly different look to them this year due to the COVID-19 guidelines that we adhered to. For any further detail please see out Return to Play Document below. However all the children responded really well to this and were able to enjoy their day whilst making sure that everyone kept as safe as possible!

The next holiday courses for both SoccerstarsUK & SportstarsUK will be during the October Half-Term 2020!
